I have a Grid View control and use old style manual binding with a Data Source property and invoke the Data Bind() method. If you don't use one of the Data Source controls, you are required to handle the Row Updating event. I have Gridview in my page and i am trying to edit information with in grid. Thank you, Bhavin Gajjar Excuse me for my tardiness - I was on a vacation.I have worked before with gridview row update/delete.never faced such problem.aspdotnet-suresh offers C#articles and tutorials, csharp dot net, articles and tutorials, VB.A friend asked me to help him out on this and frankly it has me completely stumped as well.
It looks as though you can't use keys if you are using templates fields or if you are not using the built in data controls. Please post the code for your Page_Load method and the that handles your Update (your C# code) so we can have a better look at what's going on. Please give some references and/or details of how to. This wipes out the data provided by the user during editing (editing happens after the page load). If you reset the Data Source at this stage, your values for updating will be lost. I actually don't know how to write the Row Updating function, I just found it from the internet, and so of course it's not working. Please give some references and/or details of how to. Ok what's happening is that you are binding the data source for the Grid View every time a postback occurs in the Page_Load method. It gets into the "On Row Updating" event just fine, but there are no New Values or Old Values. I was doing databinding in my Page_Load event and when I clicked "Update" the Post Back was done, so was the Page_Load event fired.Grid View was filled with the old values again, so in my Grid.
